Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them. Handpicked to host the first-ever L''eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she''ll have inside information about the mysterious L''eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara''s blog following is about to skyrocket. Still, Cara isn''t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L''eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn''t seem more alien. She''s certain about one thing though: no human boy is this good-looking. But when Cara''s classmates get swept up by anti-L''eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn''t safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara''s locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class. Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn''t just her only friend; she''s fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life???not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

"This book was absolutely amazing. It was one of those books I never wanted to put down. I gave the book a full 5 out of 5 stars. I would get annoyed sometimes in the book but that happens in every book I read. If there aren't annoying parts in a book then the book wouldn't be as good. Anyways, lets get into my review.
This book takes place a little in the future after they have found another planet that has aliens living on it. They look a lot like humans do. So to create peace between the two planets they have an alien exchange program. Cara thinks that this idea is great idea but the rest of the world including some of her friends and boyfriend thinks it's horrible. Cara signs up for an exchange program and she gets chosen so now an alien is coming and staying at her house.
Aelyx however has other plans. Plans that will hurt Cara.
This story grabbed my attention from the beginning. once I started reading it, I didn't want to stop. It had my attention and I kept reading and reading. I finished it in almost one sitting and now I really want the second book.
I love how we got to see from both Cara and Aelyx's point of view. Most of the time when an author writes there first book, I think it is better for them to write one perspective because there is a lot of times that the author gives more attention to one character then the other. Even I struggled with this in my own writing and ended up taking the other two perspectives out of my book. However, Melissa Landers did so well with writing both there perspectives and I don't think the book would've been as good if we only saw Kara's point of view. The author did so well of giving both characters an equal amount of time for both of there perspectives.
I loved how The author could make us hate Aelyx but love him at the same time. He would say some rude thing about humans and I would be like "Wow, that stung." but at the same time I still loved him. He would do cute little things that made you love him.
