All Passion Spent

"As I guess is the case for many people, I arrived at Vita Sackville-West via a Virginia Woolf detour. Particularly after I read <i>Orlando</i>, and saw those fabulous images of Sackville-West dressed up as the main character, I felt I just had to "get to know" the lady herself.<br/><br/>And I'm so glad I did! This was my first foray, and, while not my absolute favorite of her work, it was sufficient to make me sit up and go, hm, yes, this IS a fantastic writer!<br/><br/>My absolute favorite of hers that I've read (so far) is actually <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/498430928">The Heir</a>, a novella featuring a young-ish man...in other words, at first glance not much in common with All Passion Spent, but oh!
