"So, the power dynamic between Hunter and the Archangel kept me motivated to finish this story. In the end, when I finally stepped back, I realized the plot didn't go anywhere, and neither did the relationship.
Still, I did enjoy Elena. She was mouthy and badass. Rapheal was a jerk, of course, but a rich and powerful one, so I was okay with it. Angel's Blood seemed like a setup for the rest of the seires, but it doesn't excuse the staleness of the first book.
The Angel and Vampire relationship was pretty unique to me and how they are made. Unfortunately, the romance was superficial. I didn't feel the chemistry. Also, the wing glitter dust. All I could think of was dandruff, haha. It was not smexy."
"Shoutout to Bridey for constantly recommending this series. Angels’ Blood is 100% what I needed to read to get out of the weird slump I’ve been in!"

"This is such a pity. One of the first paranormal romances I unfortunately couldn't enjoy. And I WAS SO CERTAIN I would, I was so excited for the prospect of falling in love with a 20+ book series from the 2000's. It's literally my favorite <i>"genre"</i>. <p> Her writing is great, so easy to follow, addicting and you can definitely finish this in one sitting if you'd like. She hit every major plot point, groove, vibe and rhythm of a paranormal sort of investigative novel. I am sure that for the time this was awesome. <p> And yet... I couldn't. I couldn't with the obnoxious female main character trying to come off snarky nonstop to show "she's tough as nails" when she just sounded childish instead. I couldn't with the insta love. I coulnd't with the CONSTANT sexual innuendos, that sounded more like something a 7 year old would say to get a laugh out of his friends because he just found out what sex is for the first time. <p> It tried to be sensual, romantic, etc but it was the opposite. I rolled my eyes too many times and this was NOT for me. <p>I guess nothing in the world will ever top Illona Andrews banter for me and everything else will always pale in comparison. I don't understand why it's so hard for people to write snarky, funny and strong willed characters without making them sound immature. <p> What a waste :/"
