"As a long time fan of the movie, I spent my holiday break of my sophomore year in high school reading this classic. So much more happens in the novel to Scarlett O'Hara, one must realize why they had to cut most of it for time. If it were today there would have to be multiple movies to span this novel. Yes this was written a long time ago by a Southern woman, but many lessons can be learned from the struggles, heartache and horror of Scarlett's life. Recommended.

"I was pleasantly surprised that it was a non-romantic romance when I read it 20 years ago. The tension between the two characters and the growth of Scarlet’s character made it so interesting. Far ahead of it’s time."
