"While this book might have been an educational expose on the life of trains, it was as fun as it was visually appealing. The words jump at you, in different fonts, colors, and in different sizes. Picture spreads, no two are the same, and incredibly detailed with gorgeous colors. Even without the words, this book could tell its own story. It’s no surprise that it was a medal winner, but what shocks me the most is that this is a controversial book. It has been claimed that this book does not present the migration workers that worked on the railroads well enough in this book, that it excluding factual information. In spite of that, I loved this book, and I would love to use it in the classroom. We could talk about information writing, trains, visual writing cures, there are a plethora of options for the book. Read aloud, library, I know that this is a book that I want personally for myself."
