A woman walks alone at the foot of Mount Sengoku. A man appears, saying he’s been waiting for her, and invites her to a nearby village. Surprisingly, the village is covered in hairlike volcanic glass fibers, and all of it shines a bright gold. At night, when the villagers perform their custom of gazing up at the starry sky, countless unidentified flying objects come raining down on them—the opening act for the terror about to occur! -- VIZ Media

"Recently I started reading graphic novels whenever I'm in a reading slump. My daughter is the one who introduced me to this author and I'm so glad. The art was beyond beautiful along with a sci-fi/ horror storyline and cult activity as well. This was a 3.75 out of 5 stars. The only reason I didn't give it a 4 star is because of the lack of character development."

"I was more afraid of where this manga might go plot wise than I was with anything that actually happened in it. While I did find the burns to have seriously messed up the leader of the strange cult. The majority of the story, save the suicide bugs, wasn't riddled in body horror that could hold a candle to that of the fantastic collection "Uzumaki" much less that of "Tomie", which I wasn't a true fan of myself. The convoluted nature of the time paradoxes, both grandfather and bootstrap, pt 1"
