A heartfelt and enchanting friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story about taking risks, falling in love, and finding magic in unexpected places.Ellie Kobata has spent most of high school on the sidelines, keeping her art Instagram private and shying away from the world. She can't even tell her only friend, Lia, that she's part of a secret magical community. The one person Ellie could relate to was her childhood friend Jack Yasuda – until he mysteriously started snubbing her a few years ago. Before senior year, Ellie is determined to take risks and have a life-changing summer, starting with her Anti-Wallflower List – thirteen items she's going to check off one by one. But when number four on Ellie's list goes horribly wrong—revenge on Jack—she finds herself stuck in a car with him, driving to a magical convention. As they travel down the coast of California, Ellie realizes that number thirteen on her list—fall in love—may be happening without her even realizing it.In The Charmed List, Julie Abe sweeps readers away to a secret magical world, complete with cupcakes and tea with added sparks of joy, and an enchanted cottage where you can dance under the stars. This delightful YA romance combines the charm of a romantic comedy with a touch of magic, delivering a perfect summer read full of heart, humor, and enchantment.

"This is such a fun read!"

"I almost never dislike books and I feel guilty giving this a thumbs down but it just wasn’t enjoyable for me. It was very high school but not even in a fun way. The motivations for the characters made little to no sense at times and it didn’t feel like the love interest really gave a genuine apology. Plus, the main characters kissed before even airing out anything that had happened in their past. It just didn’t feel very realistic to me and was a struggle to get through. "
