"Brutal. I struggled reading this book and did not enjoy it. I thought the entire storyline was far-fetched and it was told from the first person point of view yet revealed details that would not have been known to the narrator.
I was excited to read a historical fiction book that didn’t focus on World War II but this was way more fiction than historical in a negative way. Trying to come up with an explanation of Agatha Christie’s disappearance, the author makes up nefarious motives that leave the reader feeling unsettled and confused.
The ending in particular was hard to follow with many minor side characters going by alternative names. I didn’t want the narrator to succeed because I was just lost. The ending was very convenient for the narrator, and it all felt very forced.
The only reason this book gets a full star instead of half is because I was able to finish it otherwise I wouldn’t waste your time.

About the last quarter of the book, when plots and twists start being revealed, the story really pulled me in. I was pleasantly & genuinely surprised at some of the twists. A nice read that may feel a bit slow at first but I think worth the read. "
