And they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy can’t understand Joshua’s joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy’s overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude. Now up for the same promotion, their battle of wills has come to a head and Lucy refuses to back down when their latest game could cost her her dream job…But the tension between Lucy and Joshua has also reached its boiling point, and Lucy is discovering that maybe she doesn’t hate Joshua. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.

"I liked the book, it added details that the film didn’t have. "

"If I could give this books zero stars I would. The dialogues were weird and disturbing. The characters were yucky and I did not like the plot at all. The romance was terribly written and made me cringe every 5 seconds. I would highly recommend you skip this book and find a book that is actually worth your time. 1/5 ⭐️"
"3.5 star

Another light and fun read which I devoured rather easily. These covers are making me want to take a break from fantasy for a while. I quite enjoyed these two haters. The fact that Lucy was a short fire breathing dragon made me root for her in all things. And to be honest Josh was too much of a dick sometimes but of course I started to hate-like him later on.

My only problem in the first half was you didn't get much of a backstory between the two. Josh you come to know a bit more but it was all towards the end of the story. I enjoyed the games they played and what I later learned from Josh with his asshat ways of doing things. The whole story turned out to be fluffy and fun. It's too easy to get burned out on complex stories sometimes you just need to remember why you started reading in the first place.

All too often you see a slow burn romance as torture because of all the misunderstandings. I mean is it that hard to say how you feel sometimes? It was a breath of fresh air to hear the truth which was another game they played. So the honesty had me fawning over the romance and how easy the sparks flew.

Still though, Josh's cocky male ego ruined a few scenes for me and I don't think his background was any excuse to do so. Also their come together was to fast as well I was hoping for a little more of the hate scenes. Hands down favorite part of the book is where Lucy goes all mini Godzilla on some people. Believe me you'll know it when you see it."
