"White Nights" is a short story by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, originally published in 1848, early in the writer's career.Like many of Dostoyevsky's stories, "White Nights" is told in first person by a nameless narrator; the narrator is living in Saint Petersburg and suffers from loneliness. He gets to know and falls in love with a young woman, but the love remains unrequited as the woman misses her lover with whom she is finally reunited.

"My favorite horror story"

"i don't even know where to start with this one. it was beautiful and soul crushing. it's a short story yet so impactful. this is the book i always reccomend to people who are looking to get into classic literature. its emotional, it's a relatively easy read (compared to some of his other stuff) and overall just a really good short story. as with all Dostoevsky, tons of description and huge pages of dialogue. hard to keep up with but he was a very talented writer. "

"The rating is low because the chemistry was low, and the **** was subpar at best.<br/><br/>It's 2 stars instead of 1, because I enjoyed the push and pull the heroine allowed. She was protecting her "heart" and was all about self-preservation and I appreciated this part of the story. I love a stubborn heroine most of the time.<br/><br/>Otherwise, this was a disappointment when it came to sizzling chemistry."
