"Beat Street will go down in history as one of the best hip hop movies of all time. My uncle showed me this movie when I was young. It introduced B-Boys, breakdancing, DJs and rapping to the world. It gives a real glimpse into what it was like in the Bronx in the 1970s & early 1980s when this lifestyle first started."

"This movie is about HIP Hop which encompasses rap/mc'ing turntabling/dj'ing, graffiti and B byoing/dancing but it's also about friendship, brotherhood and pursuing your dreams. This is a great deep dive into the culture if you are interested in the origins with a story that intergrets and focuses on each element. So if you are interested in the origins this will give you a pretty good baseline of information. However even if you can't relate to the culture of hip hop...the themes can be applied to anything.
