"i first watched nightmare on elm street 2 in a college dorm, nested in several kinds of closets so confusing it was essentially a queer traffic jam of clown cars trying to find the off-ramp. i knew just enough to know i wasn't straight, but beyond that was unexplored territory. my roommate--a young woman inadvisably off her medications, obsessed with vampires, johnny depp, and her smuggled pet rat who frequently crapped in my bed and ate my computer chargers-- owned every single freddy movie and showed 'freddy's revenge' off as 'the gayest one'.
it certainly was. years later, i found out *exactly* how gay it was, and how much it really contributed to making the lead actor's life hell. this documentary is FASCINATING. mark patton is both emotionally observant and eloquent when it comes to discussing his experiences. i'll quote some of my favorite things he has to say below. this is gonna be a long review. :)"
