Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe grew up an orphan after her parents were killed by local greed, corruption and wanton violence. But Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting her family's Anansi Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals - anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from threats like those that claimed her family.

"Until I watched this DC animated movie, I didn't know anything about this Superhero. Vixen is an African girl from Zambezi who owns a totem which can give her the powers of any animal that she chooses. She uses those strengths to battle against baddies in the city of Detroit. Along the way, she meets other superheroes, such as the flash, the canary, the arrow, and the atom. I really enjoyed watching this action drama. The story building is incredible, and the voice acting is very good. Grant Gustin, who actually plays the role of The flash in the TV series, voices his own character, as do his co-stars, and the other actors from The Arrow TV series. There is a post-credits scene, which sets up the TV series."
