"The trailer I saw reminded me of a K-drama but with Filipino humor vibes (I hadn't seen a Thai production before, hence the comparison to what I'm more familiar with), which felt right up my alley, so I immediately put it on. Apart from being hooked rather quickly, I was impressed by how quickly the story moved without feeling rushed, and how complete the story felt with only 6ep. On that note, I personally think its satisfying enough with just this one season, but they did leave room to expand the story in many directions for a second season (it just hasnt been confirmed yet) 9.5/10 🎲 "
"So this was over the top. In every possible way. Whether it's the acting or the excessive "Noooooooooooooooooo!" You may think I'm exaggerating the number of Os in that No but I'm probably underestimating it. There are so many moments that just scream cringe and want nothing more than for you to just ignore the fact they don't know how to make a story flow.
It very much has squid game energy in many aspects of the show. You will know and think the makers of squid game had a hand in this, just minus the gore and add some love. This is that.
However, the concept is intriguing to say the least. The world is fascinating and you want to see more. You do get to see areas they hype up, which was a shock yet fun to see.
Now the characters. They're fine. They all have deep enough backstories, at least the ones they flesh out that is. There are quite a few that never get any sort of background but it's fine. Can't win them all.
The main character is very cringey in the beginning then at the end they try to make her into something she'd really not, but the transition is nice enough you don't truly notice.
Then there's the main guy. He's fine and I do enjoy his fear working it's way into the story.
Next there's the main antagonist female. I adored her progression. She became one of my favorite characters despite initially hating her. Her expansion just worked.
Then side characters due also get their subplots but they really just remain as that. Minor plotpoints in the story.
As for how the world makes sense or works, it doesn't quite flesh it out. You will be confused and have to find your own connections for the things they don't expand on. I'm also not sure on its rewatchability. There's really nothing that's gonna make you want to go back to it.
Finally, the ending. It actually has a cute sad ending. Even though it does feel rushed in many ways and trying to be wrapped up, it does end. So you get the satisfaction from that at least."
