"I was really excited for this one - I've always loved Lady Macbeth and this sort of Heathers/Shakespeare mashup seemed appealing. The writing style is interesting and poetic, however a lot of the attempts to make the story fit into the play's framework are pretty weak, and the fact that the whole thing takes place over a two week period is EXTREMELY silly considering that she hadn't known any of them before that. I get why she couldn't have known Mack before considering the twist at the end but the idea that this dude was so in love with her that he was ready to kill and die for her after like 29 hours is ridiculous.

I also found a lot of the writing around the assault on Jade and its aftermath to be really dismissive of survivors and the ability to have a life after something like that happens. Like she was going to die either way and her choice was just whether to fade or flame out, and that's not true. For a book with the kind of dedication this one has to girls who want revenge, it feels irresponsible."
