"Great easy quick read. But the ending dragged on and on. Great story line. "

"I know I only gave this book three stars, but I actually enjoyed it greatly. It was lightly suspenseful but not really. It wasn’t demanding, had a satisfyingly happy ending, and all the loose ends were neatly tied up in a bow. It had a light touch of self-reflection and Moriarty, as usual, writes with striking accuracy about motherhood and parent-child relationships. But - this isn’t exactly literature, and it could be quite repetitive. The protagonist was a bit too perfect (though thank goodness, there ARE hints of character growth in her). It’s a fascinating premise and I loved how Moriarty examined the “villain” in a new light - truly as the protagonist of her OWN story. Rarely is the antagonist given a voice and complex motivations.

I would recommend this as a summer read - or a “during a stressful time of life when you need an escape” read!"
