"I wanted to like this book since I really love the tv series but this book was just all over the place. I was confused mostly and kind of bored. I got the nostalgia on certain parts like the grattan murder poem and a few quotes but I didn't connect with any of the characters. Nell was mistreated throughout most of the book in my opinion and I thought she died before the end but it just turns out Nell was "possessed" by the house to the point of ending her life at the end. 3.5/5 is what I rated it...."
