Edited by Leslie Mitchell at G2 Freelance Editing and re-released 2/6/13. Extended Edition. Blood Slave. Captured, taken from her beloved family and woods, Aria's biggest fear is not the imminent death facing her, but that she will be chosen as a blood slave for a member of the ruling vampire race. No matter what becomes of her though, Aria knows she must keep her identity hidden from the monsters imprisoning her. She has already been branded a member of the rebellion, but the vampires don't know the true depth of her involvement with it, and they must never know. Though hoping for death, Aria's world is turned upside down when a vampire named Braith steps forward to claim her. He delays her execution, but Aria knows it's only a matter of time before he drains her, and destroys her. Especially once she learns his true identity as a prince within the royal family, who started the war that ultimately brought down humankind, reducing them to nothing more than servants and slaves. Aria is determined to hate the prince, determined not to give into him in any way, but his strange kindness and surprising gentleness astonish her. Torn between her loyalties to the rebellion, and her growing love for her greatest enemy, Aria struggles to decide between everything she has ever known and a love she never dreamed of finding.Mature YA/New Adult. "Dnf 80%.

Should have read the reviews before starting this one. The characters were very bland. There was no plot that I was aware of. In just the first few chapters all the sentences sounded the same. Aria is defiant with a defiant look on her face standing defiantly. Literally two seconds later cowers, does whatever anyone tells her to. And for some reason almost everything she did was "for the first time" repeated over and over. Of course spoiler alert.........she is a virgin.

Also (Braith never does this for anyone)x20. Why am I so special repeated till my ears bled. For a short book there was a lot of copy and paste for the same lines.

So I told you more than half the story and I guess these are all spoilers. My bad."
"DN 70% - skipped through the rest
The cover is pretty but otherwise? This is just dumb.
The premise of the book is interesting but I have rarely seen so flat and boring main characters.

I don't know how I keep stumbling upon those female leads that are utterly self-confidence and "feisty". And always their behaviour is rewarded. There is a difference between being a strong character and being just dumb to a point that it hurts others.
I am tempted to give this book 2*s because side characters keep mentioning how stupid the MC is and that her behaviour is causing the problems. But since the MC is really dumb and doesn't see any of it..

I hate being SO negative about a book. But I am upset at how stupid the MC is. Can't say much about the other chars since there isn't much to say about them. They are there, not a lot of times but sometimes.

There must be a way to write independent strong female character without making them immune to advice."
"Heavy Beauty and The Beast vibes but with vampires and dystopian world.
A lot of eye rolls and “really right now?!” Happened. It’s falls short all over the place!

HOWEVER! The last bit of the book’s plot development/cliffhanger kind of makes me want to read the second book so now I’m conflicted!"
"Well damn....

I didn't like this book. Some of it was good but most of it was bad.

Good....The book was free on Amazon
Bad....The Heroine was seriously annoying. She needed to be slapped around a couple times and act like the "badass" she was supposed to be.

The plot was really interesting but I just didn't feel it was executed well."
