Cordelia's Honor

Shards of honor: Cordelia Naismith, Betan Survey Captain, was expecting the unexpected when she and her team landed on a newly discovered planet. She was not, however, expecting to find a hostile military force from Barrayar staging a sneak attack on the friendly planet of Escobar. And she certainly wasn't expecting to fall in love with a 40-plus military leader known to cosmopolitan galactics as the Butcher of Komarr. But instead of the blood-drenched barbarian she was expecting; she finds a man who takes responsibility seriously and is prepared to sacrifice his honour in choosing between evils too great to imagine.
