"You can’t get through childhood without reading this book several times."

"I'm fairly certain that I had every Seuss book known to man in my childhood library. Green Eggs and Ham, is a classic Dr. Seuss book, designed as a beginner book to encourage students to read by themselves, with its simple word choice and rhyming scheme. This is a book about Sam, who refused to eat his green eggs and ham no matter the situation, no matter the circumstance. It's not until the end that learn that this is in fact a delicious treat. This book is a recognizable treat to anyone familiar with the Seuss world, and makes for a great starter for the independent reader.<br/><br/>I would see this in the lower grades, K-2, and I imagine that this would be a highlight during Dr. Seuss week. A special lesson that we could use, is learning how to decode words through the illustrations. A key tool for students learning independent reading, is that they can use the pictures in the pages to help tell the story. <br/>"
