Zombies and voodoo collide in this Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Laurell K. Hamilton. Becoming the fiancée of master vampire Jean-Claude is wreaking havoc with Anita Blake’s reputation as a hardass—to some extent. Luckily, in professional circles, she’s still the go-to expert for zombie issues. And right now, the FBI is having one hell of a zombie issue. Someone is producing zombie porn. Anita has seen her share of freaky undead fetishes, so this shouldn’t bother her. But the women being victimized aren’t just mindless, rotting corpses. Their souls are trapped behind their eyes, signaling voodoo of the blackest kind. It’s the sort of case that can leave a mark on a person. And Anita’s own soul may not survive unscathed...

"Each AB books seems to focus less and less on her job as US Marshal and more on her increasingly complicated personal life as a shifter who doesn't shift that is involved with I can't even keep up anymore. Constantly having to go back and re read to figure who this latest person she is embarking on a friends with benefits relationship has really turned me off the series. I love LKH writing (More Merry Gentry please), I love AB as the bad ass Executioner, I love her love partners...but all the extra hookups seem to be muddying up the story line. 24 books in and I am debating if I am going to read the next."
"<strong>Heading in the right direction again</strong><br/><br/>More plot to this one, though it still isn't as solid as her first 6 in the series. She wanders a bit too much in Anita's head, revisiting stuff--sometimes 2 or 3 times--from previous books that has no relevance to her story or the situation at hand. Oh, and Anita manages some seriously ADHD moments in there. Good props on handling poly lifestyles via communication but bad props on doing it in the middle of a disciplinary meeting, for instance."
