"Set in the present day during the bush fires in Australia, it begins with a girl named Zelda texting her grandfather Felix. We learn that Felix became a famed physician following the war and his granddaughter named after “the” Zelda has come to live with him while her physician parents work in Darfur. I loved the granddaughter/grandpa relationship and the effects of the pain, love, & secrets we carry. We learn a little more of Felix’s story from WW2 but books 4,5,6 finish it up. "
