Sheriff Walt Longmire faces an icy hell in this New York Times bestseller from Craig JohnsonThe hit drama Longmire is now streaming on Paramount+Well-read and world-weary, Sheriff Walt Longmire has been maintaining order in Wyoming's Absaroka County for more than thirty years, but in this riveting seventh outing, he is pushed to his limits. Raynaud Shade, an adopted Crow Indian rumored to be one of the country's most dangerous sociopaths, has just confessed to murdering a boy ten years ago and burying him deep within the Bighorn Mountains. Walt is asked to transport Shade through a blizzard to the site, but what begins as a typical criminal transport turns personal when the veteran lawman learns that he knows the dead boy's family. Guided only by Indian mysticism and a battered paperback of Dante's Inferno, Walt braves the icy hell of the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area, cheating death to ensure that justice—both civil and spiritual—is served.

"I’m shocked that others did not enjoy this book. While the 6th book gave us a little more humor, the pure reflectivity of this one was almost too much pain to “bear” which is what kept us going. I don’t care that this wasn’t quite the mystery we were used to, it was the raw struggle of our favorite character and the constant confusion of what was real and what wasn’t. I could not put this down even if I tried. At points I wanted to cry, at points I wanted to scream. Regardless, I think this is another home run in the Longmire series and thank the lord that Johnson shares his talent with us in so many books. Never disappointed and never will be."
