"Noooooo second book syndrome. I loved the the first book.....loved. But this one was so convenient. Five girls, three guys, four alien dudes. Of course all the Spidermans have a thing for one of the girls and conveniently never the same one so no fights ensue. Two of the guys possibly gay and the other guy is a dick that everyone hopes gets eaten in the night, also a human is dying. So all that math equal everyone partnered up perfectly no loose ends.

Maybe what took a nose dive was the romance. For some reason in this genre when the couples start talking "No I love you more" "No I love you most" it just starts getting so clique and tiresome. I wanted it to focus more on the alien/human differences and interactions. I thought they would be traveling and learning from one another. More side character build ups. Maybe even friendships.

Really none of the humans had loved ones or family aboard that died? The characters were shallow and I might not have noticed before because I enjoyed the first story so much. It was slow and inviting. This book felt forced. The dialog became a little more eye rolling than usual. Still good world building. It just wasn't enough. The main characters had to much of the focus and drain the life out of the rest."
"I love Ivy and Ketahn! I never thought I would be strongly cheering for a human woman and her "spiderman" to overcome all odds. Yet, here I am cheering loudly! This story and world were so immersive. I found myself lamenting that I did not have a Ketahn of my own. I'm excited and yet sad to get to the last book. If you read the first, read the second!! If you haven't read the first, but are interested, go read it!

SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!

I am so over the queen and am ready for her to go already. He doesn't want you boo, get over it. I find her so annoying. She does make a decent villain though as she sees everything she does as "correct" through her point of view. I always like these types of villains a bit more than those that are villains just for the sake of it. Really hoping for a happy ending for our girly and her "spider.""
