They called him the Dollmaker-the serial killer who stalked Los Angeles and left a grisly calling card on the faces of his female victims. With a single faultless shot, Detective Harry Bosch thought he had ended the city's nightmare... But then the dead man's widow sues Harry and the LAPD for killing the wrong man-an accusation that rings terrifyingly true when a new victim is discovered with the Dollmaker's macabre signature... Now, for the second time, Harry must hunt down a death-dealer who is very much alive, before he strikes again. It's a blood-tracked quest that will take Harry from the hard edges of the L.A. night to the last place he ever wanted to go-the darkness of his own heart.

"I'm loving this narrator more and more as I continue to re-experience these books. I'm a bit sad that I have only two more with him narrating before it changes. I may try them out as well, but I'm not sure how they can be better than Dick Hill as Harry.

I read this ages ago. Maybe 12 years ago. I found a receipt in a book for the Last Coyote when I was looking through my books and that receipt was for 2002. Wow. I can't believe it's been that long. So I forgave myself for not remembering most about this book. Especially the whodunit part. But it was nice to remember parts but to also be engrossed because I wanted to know who it was. It was the best of both worlds.

I do remember how I felt about the trial. Poor Bosch! I knew he was a bend the rules kind of cop, but it was always in favor of helping victims, not to make himself look good. I wanted so bad to testify on his behalf. He's not a bad guy! I promise!

I love Harry. Love him. Of course, this is a reread after watching the new tv series on Amazon Prime. I do not regret the reread. I love the show and I love the books. I'm pretty sure if it has anything to do with Harry I will love it."
