"The Riyria Chronicles seem to be a less good version of [b:The Lies of Locke Lamora|127455|The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard, #1)|Scott Lynch|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1386924569s/127455.jpg|2116675], complete with less likable versions of Locke (Royce), Jean (Hadrian), and Father Chains (Arcadius). There's even a heist involving a really tall tower. A big difference though is that The Crown Tower does have a bizarre sub-plot about a fortune-teller opening a brothel. But overall it was entertaining and there were a few good chuckles."
"I've only read the books in this series and one other, but from what I have read I like him. He's very creative and his books aren't too heavy- if you know what I mean. This is a fun book to read and by the end I was totally engrossed! "
