"I LOVE this cook book. I can honestly say this is the first cook book I’ve ever had where I’m willing to try everything and actually want to make every recipe in it. I purchased it last week and have already made 7 things from it (3 appetizers, 1 soup, and 3 desserts). So far, everything has been a hit and it’s all things I plan to make again.

I’m still an old soul in the sense that I prefer actual books to ereaders/Google/Pinterest. I love that this book has simple meals and desserts with little tweaks. They’re things that I would enjoy eating and want to try, but may not necessarily know to search Pinterest for.

I typically dislike when cook books have a lot of writing unrelated to the actual recipe. Full disclosure, this could just be because I love Fixer Upper so I feel like I know Jo better than any other cookbook author, but I really enjoy the design of her book. I enjoy all the pictures but I especially like the writing throughout that makes it so personal. It’s been really meaningful to see what recipes are her kids favorites or how they became staples in the Gaines home. It makes it more sentimental to me.

I just feel that you can tell she poured her whole heart and soul into this book. I love that she says these are recipes that have been loved and served amongst her family and friends for years and now they’re being shared with us."
