"I'm back to my rule of no celebrity "memoirs," which usually are not memoirs but autobiographies. There's a difference. I stopped reading about 80 pages in. I was interested in his childhood and his relationship with his father. Had he pursued that story line and created an actual character arc, as in how he worked through his experiences with and feelings about, his father, that would have been a memoir. As it was, it was just another "then this happened, and then this happened," which is typical of celebrity autobiographies. The writing is good and Patrick Stewart gives an entertaining read (despite old vocal cords being noticeable at times - nothing to be done about that), but it wasn't for me."
