Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She’s made a mistake so huge, it’ll wreck any chance of a partnership. Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she’s mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. Her employers have no idea they’ve hired a lawyer–and Samantha has no idea how to work the oven. She can’t sew on a button, bake a potato, or get the #@%# ironing board to open. How she takes a deep breath and begins to cope–and finds love–is a story as delicious as the bread she learns to bake. But will her old life ever catch up with her? And if it does…will she want it back?

"A woman with a high-powered job in the City (London's financial district) wandered away from her job in what sounds to me (although I'm not in any way a psychologist) like a fugue state, into a random garden (the British term for what we in the USA would call a yard) and had a sit for a bit. Ah, relaxing. A man came running up: "Are you the new housekeeper? Come on, we have to get started." She thought ok, I just need to flick a dust rag and make some toast. I'm reading it, thinking, "Oh, no." 🤣
As the days go on, she starts to take more notice of him. Wow, he's dreamy. 🥰 But I really don't recall a Lot of spice in it. Just a little hint . "
"My all time favorite Kinsella book."

"Totally fluffy…but the way a perfect cup of hot chocolate with fresh marshmallows is fluffy. I laughed a lot, I was deeply engaged and found it hard to put down, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Are the characters a bit flat? Absolutely. Is this total wish-fulfillment with stereotypes galore? YUP! <br/>But you know what? It takes skill to write something that is just thoroughly ENJOYABLE. This book is wholesome and fun and just what I needed while I’m feeling hormonally emotional and pregnant. Five stars for doing what it does, to a high degree of excellence. And…don’t read it for English class. Just enjoy it in one big gulp like the slurpee of books that it is :)"
