"Ironside is a good conclusion to the Modern Faerie Tales trilogy. The series returns to the story of Kaye and Roiben, picking up at the time around Roiben's coronation. Of course, not everything goes as planned, or we wouldn't have the dark story we have come to expect. I like how the novel explores the gritty thoughts and feelings of Corny, Kaye, Roiben, and others as the story unfolds. I like that Ironside brings back some characters from Valiant to help tie up loose ends, although I would have really liked to see more of Val and Ravus. Overall, I liked it and would recommend it to anyone who has read and liked the other two."

"It’s time for Roiben’s coronation -- but when Kaye tries to swear her undying love to him, he sends her on an impossible quest which banishes her from his presence, seemingly forever. In her quest to find belonging, she finds herself a pawn in the games of the fae. Can a pixie outplay a queen? I bought this series at a used bookstore, and it sat on my to-read shelf for god-only-knows how many years before I finally picked it up and read it. It was good, but YA; book 2 definitely took a weird spin into unrelated territory before turning back; story elements I expected never appeared. It was satisfying, but the books went back into the used bookstore bag without much regret.
"

Man, I freaking LOVE these books. Since all of Valiant completely fell out of my brain when I read it before, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this last installment. My memories of each novel seemed to have blurred together. But most of my memories of this were shockingly in tact and it was just as awesome as I remember!!

For anyone wondering, you don’t actually have to read Valiant to understand this one. The two are pretty unrelated, but it’s more fun if you have because the characters make an appearance.

My man Roiben is the freaking best. I love him so much and definitely count him among my fictional boyfriends. The poor guy just wants everyone to be happy and I hated seeing people screw him over. Kaye is also another favorite character of mine and I love how clever she is!! Even though Kaye is flawed, she always does what she thinks is best and stays loyal to the ones she loves. And I also loved Corny A LOT more this time around. In Tithe I had some trouble wrapping my brain around his character, but I didn’t have that trouble this time. Plus, watching the romance between him and Louis was so flipping cute!!

FINAL WORD

A great ending to a great series.
