"I don't need a fucking babysitter." Out and proud NFL star tight end Tad Roarke has success, money, and fame. Just about everything. Except a good reputation. After being outed by the media as a promiscuous cheat, sponsors are dropping him left and right. To make matters worse, he's been targeted as the next victim of an anti-gay celebrity serial killer. The FBI works with his team to protect him, assigning Agent Bryce Finnegan as his undercover bodyguard. But Tad doesn't like Bryce from the get-go. The fed thinks he's a spoiled brat. Maybe he's right. Regardless, Tad doesn't plan on proving him wrong, and he'll do anything to make Bryce's job even more difficult. Still, as much as he hates him, he can't deny the guy's hot as hell...and he wouldn't mind passing a few balls around with him in the sheets. "I don't get paid enough for this." Agent Bryce Finnegan is no stranger to undercover work. With a background in busting drug cartels, he's used to his life being on the line. He's not used to putting up with spoiled rich kids who don't realize how good they have it. When he meets Tad Roarke, he expects him to be a jerk. And he's right. But the more time he spends with him, the more he realizes that all Tad's attitude is little more than bravado. He's not an asshole, and the media has twisted more than a few facts to tarnish Tad's reputation. Now Bryce isn't just worried about protecting this guy from a serial killer, but about falling in love in the process.

"If you’re looking for a fluffy, hilarious and sweet sports romance book, then Tight End by Melissa Ivers is the book for you. It has a cinnamon roll who’s protective and possessive who falls hard for the long-lost mother of his child. It also has a mom who wants only the best for her son and to feel like she’s adored and needed.
Tight End starts with June helping her mom and finding the man who she had an amazing one-night-stand with on the day her wedding fell through. She couldn’t stop thinking about this man even if she wanted to because she now has a 3-year-old son from that night. Ryan wants to be nothing like his father and wants to be the best dad now that he knows about his son. After an unfortunate event with her apartment, June and Oliver move into Ryan’s penthouse and learn how to co-parent in between football games, yoga classes and trying to deny the chemistry they still have. As the book continues, Ryan and June both decide to let down their own walls and let each other in. The story ends in a happy-ever-after.
I really liked the banter and humor of this story. I also loved how unhinged Ryan was while still being a cinnamon roll. “That’s my future wife” and his thoughts about reflooding her apartment was amazing. There are so many highlights throughout this story.
My least favorite thing about this book was the ending. It just seemed abrupt. It felt like a novella type ending instead of being finished. It even ends with a surprise revelation about Ryan’s brother. I just wish there was more to the story than it being hopefully in the next book about a different character.
This story gets a 4 out of 5 from me. It would have been a five if it hadn’t been so abruptly ended as I felt. It was the perfect reprieve from all of the dark romance and slower paced stories I’ve been reading. So cute and sweet."
