Buzzfeed's 2021 Romance Novels You Need To Read This SummerWith witty characters and heartrending romance, Jayci Lee, author of A Sweet Mess, returns with The Dating Dare—where two people might just find out how hard it is to resist falling in love with the right person. No serious relationships. This is the one rule Tara Park made for herself and it has been working swimmingly, thank you very much. The occasional fling is fine, especially since she’s busy with Weldon Brewery. But when Seth Kim, temptation personified and her best friend’s new brother-in-law walks into her life, Tara might be willing to bend her golden rule...but only for four dates—the four dates she agreed to after a few good rounds of beer and a game of truth or dare. It’ll be fun. No biggie. Seth Kim can’t believe Tara agreed to his dating dare. He’s leaving for a new job in Paris in a month and a no-strings attached fling seemed like a nice little distraction for both... But their secret dates, while sweet and sexy, always hit roadblocks straight out of a romantic comedy. Thankfully, their non-dates and chance meetings are smoother, frequent, and heated. However, the more Seth sees of Tara, the less willing he is to let her go—and what was supposed to be a fun little game turns into something that neither of them are ready for.But sometimes, the best things in life are the ones we never see coming.

"I really liked the third and first books but I was nearly screaming at how overdone this book is. Neither person in this book is a cook but the amount of food mentioned and described is so unnecessary. Also, a dare not to fall in love with someone in 4 weeks and yet they fall in love by weeks 2-3?! It was so cheesy and overplayed that I hated it. If the plot was actual followed with more quality writing it would’ve been good but instead it was filled with food descriptions and love declarations."

"Tara and Seth met at a wedding they were both in. Seth is a photographer and will only be in town for a month. Tara has been burnt in the past and has hauled off relationships forever. But when Seth asks for 4 dates, she thought it would be the perfect setup. However things never go as planned and it’s a HEA. I thought this was a cute read."
"Special thanks to St Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for this honest review. That being said.... it just goes to show that anyone can write a book but it doesn’t mean they do it well. I found the whole storyline extremely immature and unimaginative. A 28 y/o female who had one bad experience in college and she can’t get over it when she clearly has a relatively normal gorgeous guy staring her in the face and fawns all over her. This is the problem with this generation when it comes to relationships. If we portray women with strength instead of being crushed by overbearing men, and then write off men forever instead of realizing crap happens and move on. Then maybe, just maybe, we can get a generation of females from having unrealistic expectations of how relationships really work instead of playing games with each other’s emotions."
"I’ve been putting this off on my TBR forever and I’m so happy I finally picked it up. Tara was extremely relatable, mostly her love for fried foods, dessert and beer. This book was funny and cute. Very minimal spice (boo) but still I ended up loving it! Mainly due to how relatable the 2 main characters were. "
