"A classic that’s been on my TBR list for a while. It’s the story of Janie, a woman and her struggle for life, love, and independence through 3 marriages set in the early 1900’s. Written in 1937, the story is in many ways ahead of its time, addressing not just female empowerment but also the issues faced by black Americans only two generations emancipated. Recommend!"
