From the author of the acclaimed Jack of Hearts (and other parts) comes a sweet and sharp screwball comedy that critiques the culture of toxic masculinity within the queer community.Sixteen-year-old Randy Kapplehoff loves spending the summer at Camp Outland, a camp for queer teens. It's where he met his best friends. It's where he takes to the stage in the big musical. And it's where he fell for Hudson Aaronson-Lim - who's only into straight-acting guys and barely knows not-at-all-straight-acting Randy even exists. This year, though, it's going to be different. Randy has reinvented himself as 'Del' - buff, masculine, and on the market. Even if it means giving up show tunes, nail polish, and his unicorn bedsheets, he's determined to get Hudson to fall for him.But as he and Hudson grow closer, Randy has to ask himself how much is he willing to change for love. And is it really love anyway, if Hudson doesn't know who he truly is?

"I couldn't put this book down!!! I loved it! I annotated it and couldn't stop flipping back to my favorite chapters because oh my god, this book was so amazing. The character dynamics were so engaging and I fell in love with them. An amazing LGBTQ+ read for any time of the year. I'd probably say 16+ though, unless you skip over certain chapters. One of my favorite books for sure. (If you read this and liked it, definitely read "Jack Of Hearts" as well!)"
""My advice is to always be yourself, and not apologize for it."<br/><br/>I had so much fun reading Camp! I loved the setting of this book, and it was so easy to get invested this story. I love the camp, and that it was an environment for queer kids to try out whatever activities they were interested in that they may not have been able to do at home. <br/><br/>I found myself liking the side characters much more than I liked Randy / Del and Hudson. Their storyline was a little stressful at times, and it's probably because it's so reminiscent of middle and high school insecurities. I was happy with the direction it ended up going in for them, but it took a bit to get there. <br/><br/>Just FYI, there's a graphic sex scene, and I kind of felt skeezy reading it because it's between high schoolers. I could have done without that. <br/><br/>Overall, I enjoyed this book, and I would definitely check out more from LC Rosen. I would love to read about another summer with these characters as well!"
