"Okay at first I couldn’t get into this book, but that’s because I thought of it as a serious one. Weird considering it starts of with fanfiction from our main character, I know. While it does still have its serious sides, this book was quite - dare I say - comical and it really pulls you in as the plot advances.
I have to say that I saw a lot of the twists coming, but that could just be because I’m neurodivergent myself, like the mc, and saw them coming through pattern recognition. That said, the main character was really relatable in terms of neurodivergence.
As I kept reading, I swear ashskshdkahekdhsksahdkgsjsgs. I freaking love it! As soon as I got the right comical vibe from it, I could only enjoy the story to come.

"This is the 3rd TJ Klune book I’ve read. While House on the Cerulean Sea, is one of my all time favorite books and Under the Whispering Door, is touching, this book was a little too YA for me (33 years young 😊) In all fairness, it is a young adult book. I knew that going in. I just love TJ Klunes writing style so much I wanted ti give it a try. As with his norm, the characters are lovable and relatable. A fun adventure about being extraordinary and growing up, but a little too much high-school for this mom. If your the target audience I think it’s great! "
"I absolutely loved it, it kinda shows a problem in our society and the main couple is just… ahhhh fair warning the first few pages is from a FanFiction the main character is writing, and it really confused me when I read it"

"tbh i kinda found Nick (the main character) cringey and annoying af but he kinda gets a redemption arc, which is great. the story is somewhat predictable, yet enjoyable. Also i found myself oddly attracted to the main antagonist through the whole book—— if evil, why sexy? you know what i mean? "
