"4.5⭐
This book isn't my favorite of the series, but I do still love it. The plot is fun, and fast paced, and it's a nice, light read. Shasta, Aravis, Bree, and Hwin are all fun characters, though Hwin is probably my favorite. She might not play as big a role as the other three, but she's so sweet and gentle that I can't help but love her more than the rest. This book takes place during Narnia's Golden Age, the reign of the four Pevensie siblings, and three of the four of them make appearances, though it's actually set in Narnia's neighboring countries, not in Narnia itself. If you're reading the series in chronological order then this is the third book, but if you're reading it in publication order then it's the fifth book. Chronological order is my favorite way to read this series, but for first time readers publication order may be best. "
