"Throughout the novel, I was kept on my toes, which is a good sign for mystery thriller. the twist and turns this book make are complex enough for me to be surprised, but simple enough to be believable. I appreciate the intricacy of all the moving parts and character motivations.

The most challenging aspect of this book was the main character, Julia. She spends much of the novel on her high horse believing that she’s never done anything wrong and is yet very easily blackmailed. (not a spoiler happens very early on.)

There’s not much to take away from this book. It was a decent mystery with an average suspense, but felt like it could’ve ended 2/3 of the way through. I read it quickly, enjoyed it, but probably won’t think about it again. “Just Another Missing Person” was not as good as “Wrong Place Wrong Time”, but had creative elements that are not typically done in the thriller genre.

3.5/5 stars"
"Overall I liked the book, but it took a while for the story to unfold and get to a place that made a bit of sense.

There were many POV’s and it was confusing how the characters were written because it kept switching around from first person to third person then it was if the characters were writing a letter to the person they were talking about to themselves.

That is what lead to said confusion. This was a buddy read with several people, many of which were feeling the same way. I believe the author was hungry and having a craving because they mentioned Nandos several times in the first chapter. Thankfully it wasn’t an ongoing theme like the strange character narration which I started to get used to albeit a weird choice. Still wasn’t pleasant to read but at least I could follow it better.

In a nutshell, the story revolves around two missing girl cases, the police officer who was involved in the cases, and the families affected including the police. It takes some interesting turns and then a twist and flip. Basically saving the overall rating. 3.5-3.75 ⭐️

"
"400 pages (3.5 stars)…. I felt like the big problem in the book could have been resolved if the main character had handled it differently in the moment, and she’s a police officer so I would think she would know. It was interesting but the blackmail reason just felt lame to me. The twist at the end was decent though!"
"had to really pay attention to the details but the twist I did not see coming"

"2.5.
She’s written better. This was slow and the whole “cop spouse can’t handle being a cop spouse after 20 years so they sleep around” **** gets on my last fkin nerve. Also bad cops. Hate it.
But. If that’s not your lifestyle and you like a slow burn and “I saw it coming” twist, then go for it."

"The theme: parents will do *anything* for their children. I really loved this book. There was one twist I thought was so interesting and creative, I would have never ever guessed it.

The author has really impressed me with this book and ‘Wrong Place, Wrong Time.’ Compelling stories, twists, real messy characters. Can’t wait to see what else she writes."

"2.5 stars. So much repetition via inner monologue. Twists were told outright instead of discovered by the reader/narrator after very little build up. The major twist came completely out of nowhere, with nothing at all to lead the reader to this discovery. I really enjoyed Wrong Place Wrong Time, but the similar theme of “I’ll do anything for my child” just felt heavy and overwrought here. And it was sooo slow. I kept coming back to this after taking breaks and reading other things. I almost didn’t finish, and now that it’s done should have listened to myself."
