"This is the kind of book that I think would have taken me weeks to get into but Jesse Villinsky's narration brought emotion and life to even the most uninteresting characters. I found the romance to be pretty realistic for teens coming into adulthood (if a little jarring at times) watching these characters and their families heal and break was beautiful. Saft did an amazing job if crafting so many immersing and intimate moments in this book. I'm excited to see what they write next!"
"This book was so intentional and beautifully written. The whole thing has the pacing of a cozy fantasy with a darker underbelly. A book that doesn't need devoured because you want to hang out in it for a while. My one complaint is that I would have loved more backstory of the different religions/types of people. But is it really a complaint if you just want more? Looking forward to reading other books by this author! "
"It was a fast and enjoyable read. Not exactly dark and not exactly light and funny, Margaret really grew as a character and i found it very enjoyable. West felt like he sort of stayed the same for the whole thing but thats not exactly bad. I dont feel like Evelyn was properly dealt with but it did feel very real in the sense that the way that the characters interacted felt like the way someone in real life would interact if you know what I mean. I definitely recommend this book if you want something easy to read."
"I found it a little hard to get into at first, but over all it was a good read. "

"A Far Wilder Magic is such an insanely beautiful story. The themes of religion, persecution/discrimination, and love are thoughtfully written and combined to create an overarching comentary on the social climate during the 1900s. Maggie and Wes’ love story is such an admirable one because it is built on the foundations of trust and empathy. I love a slow burn, but they are so rarely done right. Allison Saft perfects the slow burn and avoids insta love which made this ya story feel so much more real to me. The journey Maggie goes on as well; finding her worth and realizing what real love should look and feel like, is part of what makes this story magic. I cannot wait to read more of this author’s writing!

Thank you to Edelweiss for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review."

"I would give this one a 4/10. It had some good romance scenes, but most of the time I had to force myself to keep reading. It was very slow paced and I thought the main heroine was painstakingly frustrating. And the transition from them moderately disliking each other to falling in love didn’t feel very smooth or natural. I also felt the plot didn’t have much depth."
