"I wanted to like this more than I did. It is an interesting story about the early life of actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr, and the obstacles she faced in a culture that valued her beauty more than her brains. It goes relatively quickly through different parts of her life. The ending is abrupt and I wanted to know more about her life going forward. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but just ok for me. "
"Marie Benedict is on my short list of favorite authors. This book is a favorite of the many I have read of her books. All of her books are informative without being boring. They tell a story about a strong woman behind the scenes. This particular story is about a woman who started that way but fought to be front and center. If you love reading about true life events and the reasons for them. Read this book."
"Short chapters and great vocab"
