Callypso Lillis is a siren with a very big problem, one that stretches up her arm and far into her past. For the last seven years she's been collecting a bracelet of black beads up her wrist, magical IOUs for favors she's received. Only death or repayment will fulfill the obligations. Only then will the beads disappear.Everyone knows that if you need a favor, you go to the Bargainer to make it happen. He's a man who can get you anything you want ... at a price. And everyone knows that sooner or later he always collects. But for one of his clients, he's never asked for repayment. Not until now. When Callie finds the fae king of the night in her room, a grin on his lips and a twinkle in his eye, she knows things are about to change. At first it's just a chaste kiss-a single bead's worth-and a promise for more. For the Bargainer, it's more than just a matter of rekindling an old romance. Something is happening in the Otherworld. Fae warriors are going missing one by one. Only the women are returned, each in a glass casket, a child clutched to their breast. And then there are the whispers among the slaves, whispers of an evil that's been awoken. If the Bargainer has any hope to save his people, he'll need the help of the siren he spurned long ago. Only, his foe has a taste for exotic creatures, and Callie just happens to be one.

"I loved this book so much! Very intriguing and well written! Fated mates, slow burn, morally gray MMC! Callie and Des are the best and they're so sweet together! This book had me hooked from the very beginning, and it was pretty fast paced! 10/10 would recommend! Can't wait to check out book two!"
"*WARNING THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS* Wow, this was soo good. It immediately hooked me in! The only reason why I bought this book in the first place is because of one of my favorite booktubers "G-Swizzel". Hearing the love she has for this series when she talks about it convinced me to pick up book 1. Now I'm going to need the rest of the series. I wasn't expecting any of what went down in this book and to say I was shocked, heartbroken and a little angry is kind of an understatement lol. I loved the writing style, it was an easy read, fast paced and I loved the characters. Callie and Des had some serious chemistry from day 1! And the fact that he felt that when he met her says something!! I'm not a fan of going back and forth between past and present but in this case I understood why because of what happened during some of the past relates back to the current present. I got really mad that Des didn't tell Callie immediately about them being soul mates, that's a pretty major thing to keep to yourself for more than seven years dude. Temper was pretty cool, I didn't like Eli much but at least he understood afterwards. There were a lot of "hints" regarding a lot of things so I wasn't surprised when I already figure out that the "high paying" client was the thief of souls, which ended up being the "kidnapper", I was surprised that it took Callie is little bit longer to figure it out, I'm like okay come on, it right there in front of your face lol. I do wonder why it took Des that long to find her if the magic of his bargains was easily traceable? It was sad to see Callie go through the torture of the transformation, I do wonder why the magic was getting rejected by her body? The wings are pretty cool though. I didn't like the fact that there was women being raped and stuff, it didn't sit right with me even though it happened off the page. I really like how this fantasy book had romance in it but also a really good plot. Great read!"
"Grooming isn’t hot. If you want to call this a dark fantasy and categorize it that way that’s fine, but let’s not try to justify a grown man grooming a 15 year old r**e victim for years. The scenes of him visiting her while in school and thinking to himself that he had to wait until she is older to “be” with him was disgusting. I can’t fathom why people think he’s dreamy. What’s worse is they were selling this at target next to Percy Jackson for goodness sakes. "
"Wasn’t a new favorite but it was interesting enough. 3/5 stars. "

"This was absolutely perfect! Drew me in and kept me hooked. Lol. I loved how their relationship changed but not so much that it gives you whiplash, I do think that her trauma was a bit brushed over when the whole incident with the mad king happened bit overall a great book. Time ceased to exist and my day was gone. Thank you very much Laura."
