Roadside Geology of Colorado

This book is designed to give to Coloradoans and Colorado visitors - especially those with little or no geologic training but with an abiding interest and sense of excitement in their surroundings - a feeling for the long prehistory of Colorado. Colorado's story, which begins not millions but bililons of years ago, involves tremendous forces working deep within our earth. It involves rain and snow and desert wind, washing seas and creeping tongues of ice. It involves the birth and the evolution of life, first in the sea, later on land, and still later in the air. It involves earthquakes and floods, landslides and volcanoes and the coming of man himself.
