Fate hasn't always been friends with Isabelle West. In fact, fate has been a downright bitch. Isabelle has learned the hard way how hard life can be when fate isn't by your side. It can hand you dreams on silver platters, but it can snatch them right back and hand you nightmares. One thing Isabelle knew for sure fate was consistent with was taking away everything she ever loved. For the last two years Isabelle has been slowly clearing the clouds of her past. Happiness is finally on the horizon. She has a thriving business, great friends, and her life back. All she has to do is jump over the last hurdle...her ex-husband. When problems start causing her to fear her new life, and memories that are better left forgotten start rushing to the surface the last thing she needs is a ghost from her past to come knocking on her door. Axel never thought he would look into the eyes of Isabelle West again, and he wasn't sure he wanted to now. He's carried his anger for so long he isn't sure he can just turn it off, but when he is faced with protecting her and an unexpected desire to have her again, life gets a little more complicated. How will Axel and Isabelle deal when all their cards are put on the table and everything they thought was true blows up in their faces?

"So there were parts I liked and parts that had me doing those eye roll exercises. Sometimes, a girl just wants a semi-normal guy. All the men in here were introduced, and as they introduced they were bigger than the last guy (muscle and height) it seemed. Until Axel is introduced and he's the tallest and musclest of them all. If you throw this all out and make them normal guys who happen to workout due to their job, it's a decent book. I definitely pictured them as normal men though I rolled my eyes at their descriptions.

Sometimes romance books go too far. This guy has the super ***** and he needs three box of condoms to hold him over for the night versus one. Okay, so maybe they might last him a little longer than that, but boasting he's more sexual than any other guy out there doesn't really make him sound like the alpha male he's supposed to be. It just makes him sound like a sex addict.

I really liked the back story of this. Abuse is hard to read, but what I love the most is where these women who once thought they'd never get out get their chance to break free. Iz isn't free just yet, but it's looking better all the time. She's healing, maybe slowly, but she's making progress and learning to live a little. The story of the guys doing what they can to catch the bastard was what kept me reading. And there seemed, to me, to be a few chapters of filler sex before the story got anywhere. It might be too much for me, but for others, this will be perfect.

My only wish for these two as a couple, would be for them to develop their relationship outside the bedroom. Yes, they once knew each other, but they've both changed. They need to get to know each other again, but it's skipped over and that's the part I really wanted."
"3.5 stars

If your looking for a quick, well written, steamy, sweet, and HEA this book is for you.
Blair well educated down on her luck hickory needs to leave her apartment, Her brother is deployed and tells her she can stay at his place. He asks his neighbor to watch over his sister.
Axel, The next neighbor. Works full time for the army and underground MMA as a fighter at The Pit
Blair and Axel meet at The Pit, they had an instant attraction to each other. I did feel like I had a connection for the main characters, however, I didn’t fall I love with them and. I did like there story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review."

"The moment I picked this book up, I knew that it would be impossible for me to put it down, and it proved to be just that. I love reading it and am so glad that I have the second one in my reading cue so that I don't have to wait to get it. The characters are easy to fall in love with and you feel the pain that they go through as you learn not just their individual stories, but how they intertwine. Some of the characters are still a total mystery, but that is what makes it worth reading.

Izzy and Axel are high school sweethearts that are pulled apart when Axel decides to go into the Marines. Izzy, while proud as punch of her man, is left to deal with the horrible things that fate throws in her path. It's just one thing after another for her. When **** hits the fan, it doesn't spread out, it comes all at once and it's a tough lesson that Izzy quickly learns.

Years later, Axel is back and Izzy isn't the same woman that he left. She's been broken by life and is trying to find herself again, but finds it hard when she sees Axel again. From there, things start to spiral out of control yet again until Axel takes her hand and shows her that he's not leaving again.

Slowly things start to look up for Axel and Izzy until one last thing stops them. Once that is out of their way, they are quickly back on the road to happiness. All the pain of the past is still there, but it is healed by the love that they hold for each other. A love that only grew stronger with time.

This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who likes to read about reunited love. There are situations in this book that make it a mature audiences only book."
