"This was a nice short read. It was interesting to watch the struggle of a family through death and spells of dry season on the farm. I will say that the one thing that annoyed me in the audio version is the repetitiveness of the dates ahead of each chapter (even if the month and year did not change). I felt like I wanted more out of the end of the book."

"Written by a young girl in a journal style format, this short YA book that gives just a small glimpse into what daily life was like for families during The Dust Bowl. It was simple, but well written."
