"Even though it’s considered a standalone, I am so glad I read Slaying the Shadow Prince before continuing The Legends of Thezmarr series, as it is a perfect set up for book 3. I’m gonna be honest…I could NOT put this down!!! Thea has some things to work through after the ending of book 2 and I really appreciated her journey and growth. Her comrades Kipp and Cal are hilarious and loyal..I just love them. Wilder is everything romantasy lovers are looking for in a book boyfriend. This is rapidly becoming a favorite series of mine and with only one book left, I know I will miss these characters."
"The story continues for Thea. Questions are answered. Apologies are given. Alliances are made. The Great Rite finally happens, tho, I did expect more time to pass while she was in there with how much emphasis was placed on time working differently throughout the story. Only 5-10 days or so. A missed opportunity to me!
SPOILERS FOR MY MEMORY**
Wilder got bite and poisoned by a spider, hid it from Thea so she’d take the rite, he waited for days while getting weaker from the poison, until the King came with an army. He made it look like she had chained him to a tree so she wouldn’t be arrested when she emerged. The king sent him to the “death” tower prior to her coming out. She asked the king for a horse, saying she was directed by the Furies to go get a war horse stallion, but she was really going to said tower to rescue him. Telamir (the shadow prince) met her on the road and now they are going to rescue him together."

I don’t even know, this book was all over the place for me. I was invested in Thea hunting down Wilder, but her being a stubborn, emo fool about the whole thing was rather annoying. Then, when they made up, we were back to the same “we can’t be together but I want to be with you so bad” crap that’s been their relationship the entire series. Their romance is purely lust, it ain’t love at all. I’m tired of reading LITERALLY the same sex scene between them each time since V&R. The back and forth together/not together + broody sex is getting really old.
The only part of this book that had me fully 100% invested was Thea’s Great Rite trial. I WISH we had more tension and action like that in the series. Another similar scene was the Trio’s fight against big mama octopus - that was cool! The rest of it is sniveling drivel between Thea and Wilder and it’s so infuriating!
I know this book is explicitly a romantasy, but I really think the romance could have been just as present in the story but written 10x better. It’s the same shhh different latrine with these two. And sorry, but stop making every character metaphorically and literally clap and cheer when they discover these two have been publicly huyucking!!! Ew!!! NO ONE sane should be doing that, we should be shaming them and spraying them with a spray bottle.
Some more world building and character development was pivotal in this story, but I dunno. It feels too late - I’ve already lost interest in the plot and will only finish the series because I am a big dumb dummy and bought the whole series right after B&S. I think Thea and Talemir rescuing Wilder will be mildly interesting, but I’m not interested in the gross reunion we’ll have. I still think we have way more plot holes than we should before the last book (HOW is King whatever the villain???), but we’ll see who the big bad is and why they’re doing the big bad things. On to the (thank the Furies!!!) last book…"
"Fate & Furies - the third book and penultimate in the series. I have nothing but good things to say! Prickly Thea and pining Wilder were so much fun to read, and I loved the found family vibe in this one. Thea's journey to becoming a full fledged badass had me sweating, and I was giggling with glee when Tal showed up at the end.

I cannot wait for the finale - will be obsessively counting down the days until its release!"
