"Despite the fact that I found parts of this novel deeply disturbing, I have to give Candice Fox due credit for creating such a compelling story! Towards the end I was so engrossed in the separate story lines happening simultaneously that when it switched I kept forgetting about what was happening in the other one. That’s some powerful storytelling if I’ve ever read it! And I just love the characters. It takes a talented writer to pull off first and third person narration within the same novel (and without chapters announcing the changes) but I love the flipping because it gives different perspectives on all the characters. And I want all the perspectives on Amanda. She’s a unique specimen; she’s like Sherlock Holmes if he was a tiny murderous tattooed woman. I love her, and I love this series, and I hope there are many, many more books to follow!"
