"4.5

I’m satisfied! I put this book on hold for what felt like forever because I was afraid of how the authors would end it. But I’m pleased and although it wasn’t the best it was a satisfying ending."

"I love the Kate Daniels series. This book did not disappoint. All my favorite characters were there. This book was actioned back right from the beginning. I wish there had been more about the lives of the characters but honestly you shouldn’t expect that with this series. I’m sure I’ll read every single book in this series over and over again."

"I'm sad to see this series come to an end. I have very few series that I reread with dedication. This is one of them. Things don't come easy for Kate and she works hard to get the things she wants. I wasn't sure I'd like Curran without him being the Beast Lord. Beast Lord and Consort brought with it a whole area of conflict and complexity for the characters. But after reading this book, I do enjoy the freedom that they have.

Even if we see them as supporting characters later, I'll still miss Kate and her ability to annoy those around her with her one-liners. I'll miss the way that Kate and Curran do foreplay (I mean come on, who else does foreplay by sparring?!). I'll miss the random knowledge Kate pulls out and stuns those around her. I'll miss the way that Kate cares. She cares about her friends, she cares about her kids, she cares about Curran. She will do everything and anything for them. *Voron rolling in his grave* Kate finally has most of her magic figured out and the series ends. I would love to see what she can really do against a big bad with her full power up and running. Another flare, another 15 seconds, and maybe Kate can take out half the army instead of just making them kneel. Oh, the possibilities.

What about a book about Curran and one tough mission at the guild? That would be fun. A lot of that seems to go against a lion's instinct. Hunting. We all know how Curran feels about hunting.

I'm still not ready to say goodbye. We had a great final book for these two. A bittersweet ending. New possibilities with other characters. Things I'm excited for. I'll just miss these two crazy psychos one-upping each other."
