Robert Louis Stevenson
Dr. Jekyll believes that evil burdens every soul, so he creates a drug to rid himself of evil. But little does he know, each time he takes to drug, the evil within him starts to grow more powerful. A London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson investigates the strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll, and the evil Edward Hyde. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is commonly associated with the rare mental condition often called "split personality", referred to in psychiatry as dissociative identity disorder, where within the same body there exists more than one distinct personality. In this case, there are two personalities within Dr. Jekyll, one apparently good and the other evil. The book's impact is such that it has become a part of the English language, with the very phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" coming to mean a person who is vastly different in moral character from one situation to the next. This cloth-bound book includes a Victorian inspired dust-jacket, and is limited to 100 copies.

"1800s horror fiction has aged so well. I believe this is the case. Based on how the horror is achieved. Many authors did this by creating terror on a conceptual level. Rather than a tangible one. This novel is no different since the horror is established. When you fathom that Henry Jekyll is conscious of Hyde's actions. Meaning that the true evil is just a man. Not some mystic monster. Which is surprisingly brilliant. #thestrangecaseofdr.jekyllandmr.hyde #robertlouisstevenson #horror"

"A rather short story but a fun one for sure. Its about a lawyer who is trying to figure out what's going on with his friend Henry Jekyll after he recieves his will. The whole story is a page turner, except for the long winded ending chapter. I would recommend just skip it altogether, unless you want more information on Henry Jekyll's perspective. "
