"There's some decent historical perspective here, couched in a lot of what feels like untethered white-people-hate. Nonetheless, it's too bitter a starting point, even if the concepts are current and relevant. I had to stop reading it because the attitude of the author comes through too strongly and is at odds with the intent of the writing. It's like reading a chef describe how to prepare award-winning apple pie, but the chef spends most of the time explaining how he hates apples, crust, and pie. It might be worth it if the chef is good enough, but frankly, there are better sources of the same information. And perhaps this is more a statement of my own beliefs, but the justification of hate (in this case, aimed at non-blacks for discrimination against blacks over the centuries) is the opposite of what I think we should want added to the world right now."
