"This may in fact be the best James Bond novel. He gave this manuscript the most careful editing of all his works up to that point. This was the fifth installment from Fleming and was very nearly the last. Fleming was about done with Bond. It is useful to read the four preceding novels but not absolutely necessary. After reading FRWL you will almost certainly want to pick up novel #6, Dr. No. #spoilers #nospoilers. "
