A USA TODAY BESTSELLER!One of Amazon's Best Romances of September!A People Magazine Romantasy Pick!Legend goes that long ago a Flores woman offended the old gods, and their family was cursed as a result. Now, every woman born to the family has a touch of magic. Sage Flores has been running from her family—and their “gifts”—ever since her younger sister Sky died. Eight years later, Sage reluctantly returns to her hometown. Like slipping into an old, comforting sweater, Sage takes back her job at Cranberry Rose Company and uses her ability to communicate with plants to discover unusual heritage specimens in the surrounding lands. What should be a simple task is complicated by her partner in botany sleuthing: Tennessee Reyes. He broke her heart in high school, and she never fully recovered. Working together is reminding her of all their past tender, genuine moments—and new feelings for this mature sexy man are starting to take root in her heart. With rare plants to find, a dead sister who keeps bringing her coffee, and another sister whose anger fills the sky with lightning, Sage doesn’t have time for romance. But being with Tenn is like standing in the middle of a field on the cusp of a summer thunderstorm—supercharged and inevitable.

"Sage's family angered the gods long ago. They have since been cursed with gifts. Sage can communicate with plants. She left home after the death of her youngest sister and has been forced to return home. This means living with her aunt and her sister, who blames her for the other sister's death.
Sage quickly finds work back at the gardening business where she was the "plant whisperer". She is not prepared to be teamed up with the man who had broken her teenage heart (although he doesn't know it) as they forage the local area for new plants with history.
Witch of Wild Things is a romance with a couple sex scenes. They are not super explicit but use some language that I don't enjoy.
Mostly Witch of Wild Things is a book about honesty in relationships. Sage has been keeping her thoughts and feelings back for a long time. As she finally expresses them, she finds the opportunity to repair relationships.
I gave Witch of Wild Things a 4 because it uses beautiful languag to describe the connections between plants, the dirt, and people. There is a scene where land is being demolished for construction that is heart breaking.
I recommend Witch of Wild Things for anyone who likes a romance with some magic, anyone who feels connected with nature (especially plants and mushrooms), anyone who remembers using AIM on Friday nights, and anyone who has had a rocky relationship with a sibling.
